Artificial Sweeteners or Natural Sweetners

What are artificial sweeteners?

Artificial sweeteners, or sugar substitutes, are often classified as non-nutritive but are used widely in diet drinks, diet aids and many other products you may not even think about. In the short term, studies have found that artificially sweetened beverages may help you gain less weight than naturally sweetened beverages. Other studies have also found that frequent consumption of these sweeteners may also be linked to other consequences including weight gain, metabolic syndrome, cancer and more. Common artificial sweeteners are Sucralose, Aspartame and Sacchari.

Most of the world has become accustomed to a certain level of sweetness for foods such as soft drinks, energy drinks, sports drinks, and even water additives. Lower calorie versions of these drinks may have fewer calories but they aren’t nutritious and may cause more harm than good.

What is natural sweetener?

Using natural sweeteners such as coconut sugar, stevia, honey or agave can offer that same level of sweetness without the harsh side effects that artificial sweeteners can cause. But all things must be used in moderation even if they are natural sugars.

Finding drink alternatives such as Squeeze Dried that use alternative natural sweeteners like stevia in all their products create an easy way to satisfy that craving.

Make no mistake: “Healthy sugars” or natural sweeteners still have plenty of downsides and need to be used in moderation.
